Presto was hours away from being put down when we got the call. We pulled him that afternoon, got him into emergency vet care, and watched him come back to himself one careful day at a time.
He recovered in foster wearing the cone of healing — and yes, the dignity of post-surgical recovery — before going home with the woman who is, unmistakably, his person.
